Frequently Asked Questions

When is open studio?

We have dedicated open studio hours every week for current students on Tuesdays from 5-9pm unless otherwise stated. Wheels are first come first serve. We are open from 12-6pm Tuesdays-Fridays but please contact us in advance.

What is your make-up policy?

Every student in the 6-8 week classes is allowed 2 make-up sessions to be used before your course ends. Please schedule ahead of time and during open hours when wheels are available. We recommend coming in during Tuesday open studio. Please understand make-up sessions may not include instruction.

Can my (fill in the blank) and I come in to try the wheel?

Of course! Please message us for available times. Fridays are our dedicated days to fit one-time students and groups in, but time slots fill up fast and far in advance!

Do you have kids courses?

Definitely! Thursdays from 4-5:30 are for kids 10-18.

What can I expect from my one-time session?

We teach a simplified and fast-paced pottery-making process. You will learn how to make pottery and be able to keep one piece for us to finish. You’ll choose your own glaze, and we will email you when your piece(s) are ready to be picked up. Please give us a month to complete your pieces! Pieces are to be picked up within 30 days of notice.

What can I expect from taking a class?

We teach the pottery-making process from start to finish including important details that pertain to the type of class you are in. Each week has dedicated demonstrations from the instructor. Pottery will be fired by the instructor in a timely fashion in order for you to take finished work home by the final class. Deadlines will be enforced in order to stay on schedule. Each student is responsible for sticking to these deadlines as well communicating any missed classes to be made up. Instructor may have you participate in light studio cleaning on the final day of class. Most importantly, our classes are meant to be fun and educational, whether you are a continuing student, have experience in a different studio, or are brand new to clay!

Do you fire work from outside your studio?

Not at this point. We have acquired too many students to be able to take on outside work as our kilns are running almost everyday. We hope to have a third kiln in the future!

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

Date nights require a 50% ($70) nonrefundable deposit in order to reserve your spot. If you have paid in full and cannot attend your scheduled date, please contact us at least a week in advance in order to receive a 50% refund. Our website does not automatically refund, so we will not be able to provide a refund if we are not aware of it. We do not do rescheduling. Date nights fill up fast and our team puts a lot of effort into making them special for you. If you have paid in full, cannot attend your scheduled date night, and are looking to reschedule, we urge you to sign up for another date night. Each and every booking requires a deposit, and this is the easiest way to “reschedule” you. We do accept suitable replacements i.e. friends or couples who are able to take your place!

I paid the first deposit, how and when do I pay the final deposit?

You will receive an email from Squarespace with a link to pay and a due date. This process is done manually and not automatically, so please keep an eye out before your class begins! Date nights are required to pay the final deposit before their date begins. 6 and 8 week classes are required to pay their final deposits mid-way through-so either 3 or 4 weeks in depending.

Are there any more date nights? Where can I find the date nights?

Date nights fill up fast! If you’re unable to find the class or a time, that most likely means that the classes have filled up already. Date night schedules get posted a month in advance around the first of the month unless announced otherwise on our social media pages. So: June date nights will be posted the first week of May, and so on. We try our best to schedule at least 2 to 3 a month!
